POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Strategic Initiatives will serve as an effective Swiss Army Knife for the Company’s President in driving priority projects forward to successful and effective completion. This role is responsible for working closely with the executive team as well as a variety of internal and external stakeholders on the delivery of key strategic initiatives and executive-level communications related to the Company’s core business, its subsidiaries, and its community affairs.

This Director role is for a hard-working individual with a fire-in-the-belly approach to driving results and solving problems. You must be a self-starter and independent thinker to turn visionary ideas into reality with detailed project plans and timelines. This role requires exceptional analytical and communication skills to synthesize information into succinct materials for the appropriate audiences.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Director of Strategic Initiatives’ responsibilities will encompass two primary areas:

  • Lead and manage the strategic initiatives portfolio of the Company’s President
    • Partner closely with Company’s President as well as VP, Communications on the ideation and conceptualize phase of new potential initiatives; present thoughtful proposals for potential initiatives to determine priority and business use
    • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders to conduct initial feasibility studies, assessments, and research to determine viability of potential initiatives and ideas; understand similar projects that exist to learn best practices, and identify synergies and gaps
    • Devise and manage detailed and thorough project plans to ensure timely completion of milestones and deliverables related to priority projects and in alignment with executive leadership vision
    • Partner closely with internal and external stakeholders on projects to ensure forward momentum, stakeholder engagement, and change management considerations for successful delivery
    • Create synthesized and succinct summaries to President with status updates and next steps
  • Support President with executive communications and key meeting preparation
    • Prepare and succinctly brief the President for key meetings and events; develop proactive processes to ensure the President has everything she needs in advance
    • Provide the President with relevant information at point-of-decision to aid in effective decision making, whenever needed
JOB PREFERENCES
  • Experience in executive-level project management, stakeholder engagement, and communications, preferably in a corporate environment
  • At least seven years of professional experience; master’s degree strongly preferred
  • Solid business acumen; an understanding of various business disciplines and how they work together
  • Intellectual curiosity; the ability to drive things forward with little to no direction
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Exceptional organization and prioritization skills; operates with a sense of urgency
  • Strong project management experience; ability to manage multiple initiatives and projects simultaneously
