In partnership with Center for Creative Leadership Chief of Staff Stephen Martin, we have created an online training and development program designed for current Chiefs of Staff. Those in the program will experience growth, mentorship, and intentional learning among peers. The program's contents are formed around research conducted in partnership with the Leeds School of Business at The University of Colorado Boulder and were designed by actual Chiefs of Staff. Featuring both live and asynchronous learning, the program is a blend of the following elements:
  • A two-day workshop led by Catherine Berardi and Stephen Martin 
  • 1:1 Coaching with Chief of Staff experts
  • A small cohort of your contemporaries: Chiefs of Staff who are serious about their growth
  • Networking opportunities 
  • The WorkPlace Big Five Profile™ assessment with a debrief of results
  • A collection of handpicked and curated reading and study materials

An introductory welcome session will kick off the Chief of Staff Executive Development Program in September 2023. Participants will meet the program's experts and get to know their fellow cohort members. 

Upon the program's beginning, participants will receive curated learning materials that will inform the program's learning modules, conversation, and groupwork. Additionally, all participants will gain access to the WorkPlace Big Five Profile™ assessment from Paradigm Personality Labs. The Big Five Profile reveals an individual’s five personality supertraits and 23 subtraits that give insight to work-related behaviors and professional relationships.

On September 20th and 21st, cohort members will participate in two days of facilitated learning, discussion, and discovery. Led by experts in the Chief of Staff role, the two-day workshop will explore

  • The Functions and Competencies of a Chief of Staff
  • Executive Office Frameworks and Strategies
  • Systematizing the Executive Office Function
  • Metrics to Measure Performance 
  • Building Leadership Influence and Rapport
  • Power Dynamics and Boundary Setting

The workshop will allow time for networking, breaks, discussion, and questions.

aMPLIFY YOUR PERFORMANCE through 1:1 and group development.


Coaching provides an opportunity for participants to put their learnings into practice and customize their experience for maximum impact. Phase 3 includes five sessions; three 1:1 coaching sessions and two group discussion and networking sessions. 


Your first coaching session will be devoted to reviewing the results of your WorkPlace Big Five Profile™ and building your development plan for the rest of the year. 


The Chief of Staff Executive Development Program concludes in November 2023, upon which participants can opt for an ongoing, exclusive coaching package with Prime Chief of Staff. Ongoing opportunities for continuous learning and networking will remain available to the cohort.

Program Details and Information

I'm hoping to become a Chief of Staff, can I still apply?

This program is for professionals who are currently serving as a Chief of Staff or highly similar role. We encourage prospective Chiefs to explore our resources and opportunities.

How much does the program cost?

The total fee for the program is $8,000 and can be paid in up to 2 installments. 

What are the dates of the program?

The program is three months in duration and kicks off with an initial session where participants and program hosts meet one another. 

Additional networking and coaching sessions will be scheduled and announced after the program begins.

Dates for early 2024 will be announced soon.

How can I apply?

The application form can be found here. Notifications of application decisions will be sent beginning August 1st.

What components of the program are optional versus required?

Given the collaborative nature of our program, cohort members are required to participate in the two-day virtual learning session as well as all 1:1 and group coaching and discussion sessions. Session dates will be determined by the cohort based upon group availability. 

I can't make these dates work. Will there be another opportunity?

Yes! We plan to offer the Chief of Staff Executive Development Program again in 2024.
